Ingredients:

  • 2 salmon fillets, 6 oz each
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp cracked black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 lemon, cut into wedges

Instructions:

  1. Pat the salmon fillets completely dry with paper towels. Note: This removes surface moisture that causes steaming
  2. Rub the fillets with olive oil until evenly coated.
  3. Sprinkle salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika on all sides. Note: Don't forget the sides of the fillet
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C).
  5. Place the fillets in the basket, skin side down. Note: Leave at least an inch between them for air to move
  6. Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes. until the edges are charred and the top is opaque
  7. Check the internal temperature at 8 minutes using a thermometer.
  8. Remove the fillets when they reach 135°F to 140°F (57°C to 60°C).
  9. Let the salmon rest on a plate for 5 minutes. Note: This allows carryover heat to hit 145°F
  10. Squeeze fresh lemon wedges over the top right before serving.
