Ingredients:

  • 4 (6-oz) salmon fillets, center-cut
  • 1.5 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1.5 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 0.5 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 0.5 tsp cracked black pepper
  • 1 lemon, cut into wedges
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, minced

Instructions:

  1. Pat the salmon fillets bone-dry with paper towels to remove all surface moisture.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, combine the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, dried oregano, cayenne pepper, sea salt, and black pepper.
  3. Press the spice mixture firmly onto the flesh side of each fillet to create a thick, even coating.
  4. Heat a 12-inch cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until it is extremely hot. Add the remaining oil to the pan.
  5. Place the salmon fillets in the skillet flesh-side down. Cook for 3-4 minutes without moving them until a dark crust forms.
  6. Carefully flip the fillets and continue cooking for another 3 to 4 minutes until the fish reaches an internal temperature of 145°F.
  7. Serve immediately with fresh lemon wedges and a garnish of minced parsley.
