Ingredients:
- 4 (6-oz) salmon fillets, center-cut
- 1.5 tbsp avocado oil
- 1.5 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 0.5 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 0.5 tsp cracked black pepper
- 1 lemon, cut into wedges
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, minced
Instructions:
- Pat the salmon fillets bone-dry with paper towels to remove all surface moisture.
- In a small mixing bowl, combine the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, dried oregano, cayenne pepper, sea salt, and black pepper.
- Press the spice mixture firmly onto the flesh side of each fillet to create a thick, even coating.
- Heat a 12-inch cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until it is extremely hot. Add the remaining oil to the pan.
- Place the salmon fillets in the skillet flesh-side down. Cook for 3-4 minutes without moving them until a dark crust forms.
- Carefully flip the fillets and continue cooking for another 3 to 4 minutes until the fish reaches an internal temperature of 145°F.
- Serve immediately with fresh lemon wedges and a garnish of minced parsley.
