Ingredients:

  • 12 oz milk or dark chocolate chips
  • 0.5 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cups shredded wheat cereal
  • 1 pinch fine sea salt
  • 36 candy-coated chocolate eggs

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the cereal base by gently breaking shredded wheat biscuits into approximately 1-inch lengths in a large bowl. Sprinkle with a pinch of fine sea salt.
  2. In a large heat-proof bowl, combine the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and unsalted butter. Melt using a double boiler or in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring until smooth and glossy.
  3. Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the prepared cereal. Use a rubber spatula to gently fold the mixture until every piece of cereal is thoroughly coated.
  4. Line a muffin tin or baking sheet with parchment paper. Using two large spoons, portion the mixture into 12 large mounds. Use the back of a spoon to create a small indentation in the center of each mound to form a nest shape.
  5. Place three candy-coated chocolate eggs into the center of each nest. Allow the nests to set at room temperature or in the refrigerator for 30 minutes until the structure is firm.
