Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 2 racks (3-4 lbs) baby back ribs
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 1/2 cups BBQ sauce
Instructions:
- Remove the silvery membrane (silver skin) from the bone-side of the ribs using a butter knife and paper towel.
- Combine brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Massage the rub generously into the meat.
- Cut ribs into 3 or 4 smaller sections if necessary to fit comfortably in the slow cooker.
- Pour apple cider vinegar and water into the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Layer the rubbed ribs in the pot and cover with a tight lid.
- Cook on LOW for 8 hours until the meat begins to shrink back from the ends of the bones.
- Transfer the ribs to a broiler-safe pan and brush with a thick layer of BBQ sauce.
- Broil for 3-5 minutes until the sauce bubbles and turns a deep mahogany brown.
