Ingredients:

  • 12 oz fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 4 cups filtered water
  • 1 small cinnamon stick
  • 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 strip of orange zest

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the cranberries under cold water, sorting through them to discard any that are overly mushy or shriveled.
  2. Place the berries, water, cinnamon stick, and orange zest into a large stockpot.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
  4. Once the berries begin to pop, immediately reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15–20 minutes until the liquid is a deep crimson.
  5. Remove the pot from heat and stir in the maple syrup and lemon juice.
  6. Pour the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a pitcher.
  7. For a professional, crystal-clear result, strain the juice a second time through a cheesecloth or nut milk bag to remove all remaining pulp.
