Ingredients:
- 12 oz fresh or frozen cranberries
- 4 cups filtered water
- 1 small cinnamon stick
- 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 strip of orange zest
Instructions:
- Rinse the cranberries under cold water, sorting through them to discard any that are overly mushy or shriveled.
- Place the berries, water, cinnamon stick, and orange zest into a large stockpot.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Once the berries begin to pop, immediately reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15–20 minutes until the liquid is a deep crimson.
- Remove the pot from heat and stir in the maple syrup and lemon juice.
- Pour the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a pitcher.
- For a professional, crystal-clear result, strain the juice a second time through a cheesecloth or nut milk bag to remove all remaining pulp.
