Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (200g) Granulated White Sugar
  • 1 cup (235ml) Filtered Water

Instructions:

  1. Choose your preparation method: For the Heat Method, combine sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. For the Cold Method, combine ingredients in a 16oz Mason jar.
  2. Dissolve the sugar: If heating, stir constantly until the liquid transitions from cloudy to completely transparent (do not boil). If using the cold method, seal the jar and shake vigorously for approximately 2 minutes until no grains remain.
  3. Check for clarity: Stop agitation as soon as the liquid is clear and individual sugar grains are no longer visible at the bottom of the vessel.
  4. Add infusions (optional): If adding vanilla paste or herbs, stir them in once the syrup has slightly cooled to preserve delicate aromatic compounds.
  5. Store: Transfer the syrup to a clean glass swing-top bottle or jar and refrigerate until ready for use.
