Ingredients:

  • 12 oz fresh cranberries
  • 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tbsp fresh orange zest

Instructions:

  1. Combine the orange juice, maple syrup, and water in a medium saucepan.
  2. Place over medium heat and stir occasionally until the sweetener is fully dissolved and the liquid begins to simmer.
  3. Add the fresh cranberries to the pot and increase heat slightly to maintain a steady simmer.
  4. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 10 to 12 minutes until the berries pop and release their juices, creating a thick syrup.
  5. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the fresh orange zest.
  6. Lightly mash a few berries against the side of the pot with a spoon for a smoother consistency.
  7. Allow the sauce to cool to room temperature, transfer to a jar, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the pectin to set.
