Ingredients:
- 12 oz fresh cranberries
- 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
- 1/3 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tbsp fresh orange zest
Instructions:
- Combine the orange juice, maple syrup, and water in a medium saucepan.
- Place over medium heat and stir occasionally until the sweetener is fully dissolved and the liquid begins to simmer.
- Add the fresh cranberries to the pot and increase heat slightly to maintain a steady simmer.
- Cook, stirring occasionally, for 10 to 12 minutes until the berries pop and release their juices, creating a thick syrup.
- Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the fresh orange zest.
- Lightly mash a few berries against the side of the pot with a spoon for a smoother consistency.
- Allow the sauce to cool to room temperature, transfer to a jar, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the pectin to set.
