Ingredients:

  • 1 lb fresh asparagus spears
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp cracked black pepper
  • 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp fresh lemon juice

Instructions:

  1. Wash the asparagus and pat them completely dry. Trim the woody ends by snapping them naturally or slicing about 1–2 inches off the bottom.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, toss the asparagus spears with olive oil, melted butter, minced garlic, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Arrange the spears in a single layer on a large rimmed baking sheet lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  4. Roast at 400°F (200°C) for 10–12 minutes until tender-crisp.
  5. Immediately upon removing from the oven, sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the hot spears and optional lemon juice for brightness.
